I have read all of the author's books and I think this is some of his best work. The imagery is vivid, the characters believable and likable. The story is a roller coaster ride of cop drama, funny scenes, heartbreak and some rather disturbing imagery. There is a lot of action here. The main character is flawed and complex. Little by little, you experience his fascinating and surprising evolution on so many levels (physical/mental/moral/spiritual). What begins as a gritty police story slowly takes you down a rabbit hole of mystery that is peeled back further and further until you realize nothing at all is what it seems. The final chapter will make you question everything you ever knew. A very unique work. Highly recommended.

Finished the book! OMG!!!! Wow!! At first, it was reading like a T.J. Hooker story, but in this case, William Shatner could act, lol. Then, it moved into such a conspiracy case, the twists, the turns! You are planning to write a sequel, I hope???! I have always believed that humanity was being used, and/or guided down certain paths. I liked Phelps. The inner struggle and conversations he had were quite enlightening. I sincerely hope you get somewhere with this one. I think that it has a great chance as a movie or Netflix TV series!

I am LOVING this book! I have read Jason McLeod's other books and Renegade of Light brings his writing to a higher level. His writing style speaks to that small voice within you that confirms what you have always believed but were afraid to say. It is a fast and engaging read. Keep a highlighter with you to mark all that you will want to read again! If this is your first Jason McLeod book, buy his other books RIGHT NOW!
